Welcome to Pakistan! Upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport, our staff will greet you with a company card and transfer you to your hotel near Margalla Hills. Please provide your flight details at least 3-4 days before arrival. After a relaxing stay at the hotel, a payment briefing for late arrivals will be held in Skardu.
On the second day of your K2 Baltoro Glacier Trek, we’ll take an early morning flight to Skardu, the logistical hub for Karakoram expeditions. This scenic flight offers stunning aerial views of the Himalayas and Karakoram range, including Nanga Parbat. Upon arrival, our staff will transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy the afternoon exploring Skardu’s bazaars or taking in the breathtaking surroundings.
Skardu, a town nestled along the Indus River, is surrounded by towering mountains. After breakfast, we’ll go for an acclimatization hike to the ancient Kharpocho Fort, offering panoramic views of the river and town. In the afternoon, you can prepare your trekking gear or shop for essentials in the local bazaar. Meanwhile, our staff will complete the necessary trekking paperwork.
Your K2 Baltoro Glacier adventure begins today! We’ll drive to Askoli Village, the last settlement before the trek begins. The 5-7 hour jeep ride from Skardu passes through the lush Shigar Valley, flanked by the Shigar River. We’ll continue along a narrow track to Mongron Camp, where our porters will join us.
The trek officially starts from Mongron, heading toward Paju Camp. Along the way, we’ll cross streams and navigate rugged terrain. After a 5-6 hour trek, we’ll reach Paju Camp, where we’ll set up for the night.
We’ll trek along the edge of the magnificent Baltoro Glacier, offering stunning views of Trango Towers, Uli Biaho, and Paju Peak. After about 5 hours, we’ll stop for lunch in front of the famous Trango Towers and continue to Khoburse Camp.
Our next destination is Urdukas Camp, perched above the glacier and offering breathtaking views of the Granite Spires, including Trango and Uli Biaho. On a clear day, you can also spot Gasherbrum 4. It is a shorter trekking day, allowing time to enjoy the scenic surroundings.
Today is a well-deserved rest day at Urdukas. Allow time for acclimatization and take in the incredible mountain vistas.
We’ll continue trekking through the rugged moraines of the Baltoro Glacier. As we move forward, the massive peaks of Masherbrum and Muztagh will come into view, and by the day’s end, we’ll reach Goro II.
Today, we’ll reach Concordia, known as the “Throne Room of the Mountain Gods.” The panoramic views of K2, Broad Peak, and Gasherbrum peaks will amaze you. We’ll arrive at this spectacular campsite after a 5-6 hour trek.
It is a flexible day to choose between visiting K2 Base Camp or Broad Peak Base Camp. Trekkers who opt for K2 will also visit the Gilkey Memorial to honor climbers who lost their lives scaling these mountains.
We’ll return to Concordia from K2 Base Camp. It’s a relaxing day for those who stayed at Concordia, with plenty of time to admire the surrounding peaks.
Our return journey begins as we trek back to Goro I, retracing our steps through the incredible Baltoro Glacier landscape.
We’ll continue trekking down the glacier, stopping for lunch at Urdukas before resuming our hike to Khoburse Camp.
The trek continues back to Paju Camp, with another day of incredible glacier scenery, including views of the Trango Towers and Uli Biaho.
Today marks our final day of trekking as we return to Mongron Camp, where we’ll camp overnight.
Our jeeps will take us back to Skardu for a well-earned rest. You’ll have time to explore Skardu, shop, or relax before the end of the trek.
It is a buffer day in case of delays during the trek. You can visit Kachura Lake or explore Skardu if everything is on schedule.
We’ll fly back to Islamabad, concluding our K2 Baltoro Glacier adventure.
